How To Paint Your Car’s Plastic Bumper

Manufacturers are durable plastic bumpers to support the burden of occasional bumps and minor collisions. A bumper can take a lot of these small accidents without endangering structural damage. Though structurally strong, with each band neck and your bumper starts to look more banal. You can return to your good bumper shape painting on damage. Painting a plastic bumper requires intense preparatory work, including slight damage removal. When completed, however, the bumper should look fresh and almost new.

  • Remove the plastic bumper of the machine. Various brands and models of cars attribute plastic bumpers of different ways; to find the fixing points, consult the manufacturer. In general, remove the plastic bumper cover by removing screws and bolts for the bumper metal underneath.
  • Clean the bumper with water and soap. Rinse the soap residues and dry thoroughly with a towel.

  • Buy a plastic load in a car shop that fits your bumper type. Distribute the load to scratches on the bumper, fill the bumper surface. Wait 20 minutes for the load to harden and then continue with wet glass grain paper 400 to smooth the load.
  • Apply two-layer flexible bumper sealant to seal the surface and wait 30 minutes to dry.
  • Paint the bumper with two primer hands to dry the primer in your hands for about two hours. Use a HVLP sprayer to apply the paint. Make sure you get a picture that is rated for your type of plastic. Rent a sprayer from a home improvement shop or boutique rental facility. Sand the primer with 400 granules of wet sandpaper to smooth the lines and imperfections in the primer paint. Clean the polished bumper with an integrated wax tack cloth to remove the dust left by the sanding process.
  • Paint the paint primer on the bumper. Spray the base layer for painting the layer of layer after layer until you get the solid paint cover in the desired color. Allow the level to dry for 30 minutes.
  • Cover the base coat with transparent coating coat mixed with the catalyst. Follow the instructions to treat mixing reports. Cover the base layer with two layers of transparent paint to protect the new bumper damage. Provide two hours between one hand, so allow the bumper to sit overnight to dry completely drying.
